What Is NRAS?

The National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS) is a government backed incentive program targeted exclusively at residential property investors to encourage investment in new rental properties. NRAS was launched by the Government to limit the affordability effects of WA’s looming housing shortage through an incentive to bring new homes to market quickly, and in high rental demand areas.

The NRAS incentive

The NRAS incentive is tax free (currently $9,524 per year) and paid annually over 10 years to the investor. It is linked to Rental CPI and set to increase each year. At the end of the 10 years The NRAS totals to over $115,000 (assuming a CPI growth of 4.2%).
